Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans had expressed sympathy for the star in the following the devastating accident.
