Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice

The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the league office.

The organization did not mention the player by name in their announcement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Allegations Shared on Social Media

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a series of photos on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

Official Complaints Currently Unavailable

No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.

Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles

The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.

Statistically, Rice concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
