FC Barcelona to Host First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio OlĂmpic LluĂs Companys.
