Kai Trump can count on numerous prominent cheerleaders when she makes her LPGA debut on Thursday.

This teenage golfer, who is related to Donald Trump, received a special exemption to participate at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.

The former president, a passionate golfer, operates multiple international courses and regularly competes against his granddaughter.

"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we have some close matches," she stated.

Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, advised her: "Just avoid anxiety."

"My grandpa essentially told me to compete and have fun," she added.

"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's quite busy."

Being non-professional, Kai has competed in just three tournaments in 2024 and holds ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

However she's able to receive tips from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Kai's mother.

"He represents the best player in the world," Kai stated.

"Additionally, he's a superior individual. He suggested me to go out there, relax, adapting to whatever happens."

The golfer will compete against multiple the biggest names in the sport at this tournament, such as world number two Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

Tournament organizers mentioned that Kai's presence helps introduce the sport to wider groups, particularly among the next generation.

Kai boasts substantial online presence and has started a personal fashion and living label.

Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
