Two Charged Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, police said.
A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
